What is a pre-order?
A pre-order is an order placed in advance on items that are out of stock, for delivery at a later date. A pre-order requires a 50% deposit upfront, with the balance payable upon fulfillment of the pre-order.
What actually happens when I place a pre-order?
The pre-ordered plants are propagated in-house from our collection of mother plants. Once the propagules are rooted, they are then transplanted to our sale pots and given sufficient time to stabilise and show signs of active growth before delivery to the customer. We do not import and resell plants to fulfill a pre-order.
How long do I have to wait before my pre-order is fulfilled?
The fulfillment period varies and is very dependent on the type of plant pre-ordered. Here's an estimate of fulfillment periods of some plant groups:
Understorey plants: 1-2 months
Nepenthes: 2-4 months
Drosera, Utricularia: 1-3 months
Orchids: 1-2 months
Mosses, ferns and allies: 1-2 months
Why should I place a pre-order?
Placing a pre-order secures an out-of-stock item when it next becomes available via in-house propagation. It also helps direct the propagation of in-demand items to meet customer needs.
I've ordered a mix of in-stock and pre-order items. How will the order be delivered?
Your order will be delivered whole, once all pre-ordered items become available. The order cannot be split into 2 or more deliveries. Self-collection at our nursery of in-stock items from a mixed order can be arranged by making an appointment with us.
Delivery is free for all local orders above 80SGD, and $15 for orders below that.
How do I pay the 50% balance on my pre-order?
The balance payable is due when the pre-order is ready to be delivered. The customer's card will be charged via the website, and no action is needed on your end.
What about out-of-stock items?
Out-of-stock items cannot be further propagated and need time to grow out before they can be propagated again. This period can be anywhere from a couple of months to more than a year.
