An instantly recognisable species from Sumatra with beautifully patterned ovate/elliptic leaves resembling military camouflage. New growth emerges via a short rhizome, eventually leading to a stand of multiple stems.
Grows best in a well-draining medium with low organic content. Allow to dry out a little between waterings, as repeated overwatering easily leads to root rot and rapid decline. Does well indoors as a houseplant too!
