An epiphytic shrub native to SE Asia. Foliage is dark green with a contrasting midrib and secondary veins. Undersides are bright red, and the entire plant is dotted with extrafloral nectaries that secrete crystalline nectar (picture 4). Inflorescences and flowers are typical of the Melastomes, with clusters of white/pink flowers. Makes a great hanging specimen!
